Isagenix vs ViSalus

There has been a lot of talk lately about the merits of Isagenix vs ViSalus, specifically the Isagenix® IsaLean® Shake vs the ViSalus® Vi-Shape® shake. It’s actually tough to compare these Isagenix vs ViSalus products directly since one is a meal replacement and the other is really a meal supplement.
Nonetheless, here’s a chart that lets the facts speak for themselves.

Isagenix vs Visalus

Isagenix vs ViSalus
Again, it’s difficult to put these two products side-by-side for a comparison, Isagenix vs ViSalus. For example, the Isagenix® IsaLean® Shake requires nothing but water added whereas the ViSalus® Vi-Shape® shake suggests milk, rather than water, as its liquid base. That changes the whole picture. I’m not saying it changes it for the better or worse. It just changes it – primarily from caloric, health composition, and cost-per-serving perspectives.

When comparing Isagenix vs ViSalus, do your homework.

Before making your decision, get the facts. Do you own research. If you’ve decided, as have I, that Isagenix is the way to create a healthier (and perhaps wealthier) you, I’d be happy to start you on your journey. Come see me at Isagenix or opt-in in the form on the right ) be sure to include your phone number) and my team and I will call you directly.

Best to you!

Very interesting comparison, Drew. I have met with a few people over the last couple of weeks who have asked about this and other formulations that they see at local stores. When you actually do the comparison it is quite amazing in what you see that Isagenix has accomplished with what they are offering to us for our health (and our wealth).

I have some friends I love very much in Visalus and I would never say anything bad about another company.
As an objective health coach, I do know a couple things:
    1) Soy protein has been clinically proven in journals to hurt thyroid function (especially in women) & shown to promote cancer. The other part of the soy plant (non-protein part) is ok.
    2) Higher levels of dairy (like milk suggested for Visalus shake) does not improve human function & well being.
    3) Un-denatured organic weigh protein (New Zealand based in Isagenix Shakes) which is rich in cysteine, the main precursor of glutathione… which has been clinically proven to boost immune systems up to 500%. (This ‘above organic’ grade protein is not avail in US except from Isagenix).
    4) The Isagenix shakes have prolytic digestive enzymes to assimilate the nutrients like the 72 trace minerals (which the Visalus shake doesn’t have) so its bio-available to the body.
    5) As Drew pointed out, Isagenix is cheaper in reality because it can replace a full meal. I would have to take 2-3 shakes after a workout if I was drinking the Visalus shakes.
***As you can see, we could go on & on, but there really is no comparison on the health side.
    Great post, Drew!

Drew,This is so helpful because so many of the other groups have Soy Based Protein. The Science behind Isagenix is the key & the Superior Formulation. That’s why people have lasting results & feel it. Is there comparison on MediFast?

  • Janet Cook, CHHC April 21, 2012 at 8:48 am

There are many great products out there today but from what your presented Drew. The evidence is pretty compelling. I do not drink milk since it is dead food (unless it’s raw milk). And the fact it’s not a complete balanced meal replacement…what’s the point then. As a certified holistic health coach I guide people to do what’s right for their bodies. Most people as David also commented upon don’t respond well to soy based products. the health risks are not worth it in my opinion.

  • Francis April 23, 2012 at 6:33 am

In my opinion, it is useless to compare this products. The two serves different functions; one is a meal replacement and the other is really a meal supplement.

  • Pam Russell April 23, 2012 at 1:33 pm

Great article and chart, Drew. Thank you! Love all the fact based and unbiased remarks posted here. I agree with all. Would also just add that anyone who is recommending U.S. commercial dairy has not studied that facts: commercial cows in the U.S. are mistreated (a huge issue for me) and their product is to be avoided at all costs.
Again, Drew, thanks for this article and all you do to keep us up to speed.

This post has guided and helped me in a lot of ways like the details about isagenix and visalus. But which would be better, isagenix or visalus?
Thank you very much for sharing this valuable information to everyone.

I’m so happy someone finally “debunked” the steady stream of misinformation coming from V…
    Thanks man.

  • drdorian April 26, 2012 at 12:10 pm

I read your information on Isagenix v. ViSalus. I have had the chance to drink both. Isagenix is an amazing product. Everything about Isagenix blows every other product away. I gave Isagenix to my mom before she died of cancer. I can say with 100% certainty that patients who are on chemotherapy and cannot eat, can drink this with no side effects. When I tried the ViSalus I did not realize that it had Sucralose in it . I have very sensitive skin and within 2 hours had a reaction to the Sucralose. By the way, on the ViSalus site they spin Isagenix shake in reverse to their benefit and never mention Sucralose The soy content is also quite disturbing for me medically due to the cancer references that are made in JAMA. I suggest people do the research. Isagenix wins.

Wow! This is awesome! Thanks everyone for chiming in! @Seth, yes, Isagenix really has a great set of products! @David, I’m with you – I’m just sticking with the facts as presented. Thanks for the additional points from a health coach’s perspective. People, listen to what @David has to say! @Nick, YES! Isagenix products, while all natural and mostly organic, find it’s foundation and formulations deeply rooted in science. Sorry, however, no MediFast info. @Janet, thanks for your input. As a certified holistic health coach, your input brings much value! @Francis – great point. One that I happen to agree with. There is little to compare, really. @Pam! Thanks for stopping by! It seems that for many reason that you, @Janet, and @David mentioned, cow’s milk has issues. @Mandy, thanks for stopping by! @Mike, great to see you here! Give me a shout! @drdorian, thanks for sharing your personal experience, having tried both products!
Folks, for what it’s worth, there were other comments for this blog post that contained somewhat heated and accusatory language that I did not feel comfortable sharing with you. If you happened to read it before it was pulled, I apologize for that. If you left a comment in passion and it was not posted, I apologize for that too.
Everyone, thank you so much for sharing! Please stop by often!
For what it’s worth, here’s another piece I found when researching:

  • Ann Nguyen May 2, 2012 at 12:22 pm

Isagenix vs ViSalus? Personally, I never compare the two since they both market to separate focus group. One’s a supplement while the other is a replacement. One suggests you can substitute a meal and the other is an addition to a meal. But you can’t lie about facts to which one is healthier.

  • Drew May 2, 2012 at 11:32 pm

@ Ann – yes one is definitely a meal replacement…. and your right about the facts… no contest

  • Drew Berman May 7, 2012 at 10:09 am

just dug this up… very, VERY compelling…

  • Tim Langley June 25, 2012 at 1:27 pm

Thanks so much for your information. We’ve been with Isagenix for about 4 years and love it and were recently approached by close friends who are doing the Body By Vi and wanted us to try it. The first question I asked them was if the ingredients used in Body By Vi (vitamins/minerals) were naturally derived (and/or organic) or if they were synthetic. They couldn’t answer but I know our heart and minds are with Isagenix. Your article just really seals the deal when people compare. Thanks again, Drew!

  • Drew June 27, 2012 at 2:10 pm

Great Tim. Thanks for your feedback. I am glad this was helpful. Feel free to spread the word as you see fit – would you post or retweet?

  • Tim Langley June 27, 2012 at 2:26 pm

Hi Drew, yes, will definitely post and retweet.

  • Nikole June 28, 2012 at 4:41 am

Ok so where are body by vi’s formulators? & why are they not behind the product as well as involved in the growth of the products and company & why aren’t any scientist that created it being shown ? Where are they? Why are they also not behind the product as well?
ANSWER: Yes, body by vi you’re CRAP!!!
Clearly, the integrity shows through Isagenix& Isagenix products. The formulators/ scientist are consistently & continuously involved & everyone knows who they are & about Isagenix & the integrity of the products!!! Can I get an AMEN?!?!
Ps bodybyvi , you have to drink Isagenix within 10 min or you lose all the nutrients/enzymes etc.
How about that?!?!? Bodybyvi, You DOUBLE SUCK!;) Watch, in a few years you WILL GO DOWN, people will see that you’re TOXIC & SLOWLY KILLING MILLIONS OF PEOPLE!

  • dcjenkins July 19, 2012 at 8:52 am

HI there! I would like to do a little debunking myself. I appreciate the quality of Isagenix and realize that our shakes (visalus and isagenix) comparatively are SEEMINGLY for different purposes.. but I need to inform that Visalus Shakes are actually considered Meal Replacement AND Supplemental as well. We have a kit to fit ANY need or goal. As a meal replacement, YES… we encourage people to add fruit and milk to it.. as a supplement it is an INCREDIBLE way to get quality protein with the trisorb blend we have in it of whey concentrate, hydrolosate and Soy (which, btw.. is NON GMO AND has had the isoflavones removed so there is no effect on thyroid, estrogen levels, etc). Soy is a great protein to help with weight loss but we have it in there to market to a wider variety of people, especially those WITH heart disease, diabetes, etc… As we like to say.. its not just about weight loss with us. OUr proteins, together have been proven to burn fat and create lean muscle mass simultaneously. Most of our customers have noticed they are losing inches before pounds..which, we all know is what we want to happen. And one of the reasons our carbs are kept low and sugar content (using tiny amounts of sucralose .03 gms per shake) is so diabetics can safely use this without sugar spikes. As far as this being enough protein to create lean muscle mass.. on our Fit Kit I just lost 5 lbs of fat and 6 inches…I am leaner than I have ever been.
ALso… the science IS there to back it up. We actually put our products through clinical trials and have 1 of the countries TOP Docs on our board. Dr. Michael Seidman, who’s credentials are long.
I just wanted to make sure everyone has the correct information out there.. this is not to argue or be derogatory.. Just for informative purposes. 🙂 We have an incredible product line as does Isagenix.. but it seems we hit a broader demographic that serves multiple purposes.. but you have to know the whole line to see the true differences. I’ve never had any product of this type work for me before so finding Visalus has changed me and my life. It curbs my sweet tooth b/c of the awesome taste and after battling weight for 20 years ( on a small scale, i must say) its nice to finally be lean.. Its even sparked me to start a career in personal training and group kickboxing instruction. Take care! Thanks for letting me esplain! 😉

  • drew July 23, 2012 at 11:21 pm

so – there are many good companies out there. i think product to product its a no brainer… but it goes deeper then that. we offer a better lifestyle… better health + better wealth + more free time. I am so blessed to have Isagenix in my life… Ive shared it with 323 people, grew the team to over 15,000, it creates a nice 5 figure monthly… its a good life!! its good and getting gooder – having a blast

  • Tessa September 19, 2012 at 10:11 pm

How does Isagenix taste? I’ve seen a whole lot of Vi comparison charts out there, and I gotta say this is the first ever one Ive seen where Vi doesnt win

  • Drew September 24, 2012 at 10:40 pm

Hey there Tessa – that’s the best part of Isagenix…. The product works, and it’s delicious. My 2 year old, and my seven year old – both love their morning shake. So not only do people lose weight, improve energy and performed, improve sleep and skin …. And many many other benefits … It tastes good too. And shakes are only a small part of the Isagenix program …. When you add nutritional cleansing to the mix – its no comparison … If you want more info check out … Or feel free to contact me directly. To your health, wealth and free time – drew

  • Charlene November 7, 2012 at 9:38 pm

what are the cost comparisons and calorie comparisons? Where is Isagenix made? I do know Vi is made in USA.

  • Monica Ludwig November 16, 2012 at 12:15 pm

    Hi Drew
I can wholeheartedley agree….Isagenix is the clear choice in my book. I did the Body by Vi program and did not lose anything and was hungry about 1/2 hour after drinking the shakes. The Isa program goes way beyond this and provides solutions to live a true healthy lifestyle.
The nutritional cleansing really helped me in so many areas. I released fat, my muscle development has grown exponentially and I have more energy than I have had since my 20s and I am 49 now.
As a professor the science behind the products in just not comparable. I could go on and on about these amazing products but just suffice it to say that this company has changed my life both physically and now financially. Thank you!!

  • Drew Berman November 28, 2012 at 10:44 am

wow Monica… thanks for the great feedback – congrats on your weight loss and body change.

  • Jatashia Manson December 4, 2012 at 11:24 am

Just wanted to say clinical trials and scientific based research are TOTALLY different!! Someone mentioned that and they are not the same, I do know Isagenix is scientifically proven while visuals is clinically proven!! Science is BETTER and SAFE!!!

  • Jatashia Manson December 4, 2012 at 11:25 am

Spell changed my word, sorry *Visalus

  • Mindy melton January 25, 2013 at 6:37 pm

I religiously followed the two shakes a day and worked out like a maniac and saw inches fall off on Visalus during my 90 day and subsequent 90 days… barely lost any weight, felt tired and drained after a few months. I thought the shakes were great but now Since trying Isagenix and seeing the scale move daily….I’ m not so sure. At first Visalus tasted great but after my 9 day with Isagenix….I tried to go back and the Visalus shakes tasted awful to they had metal in them. i had to dump them out…I literally could not drink them…even if they are free. i am now back on Isagenix….losing weight and feeling great!

  • Shawn Thomas February 25, 2013 at 3:35 pm

Let’s call both drinks what they truly are: company Kool Aid.
Both company’s products will work for most anyone, especially when followed with a fitness program and healthier lifestyle.
Consumers/entrepreneurs simply need to be educated by non-bias leaders on what “business opportunity” fits them.
You obviously chose one and it works. But there are better products available on the market that are not MLM.
People don’t choose Visalus or Isagenix simply for the products. They want the “potential” to earn money selling it to other people.
Thanks for your “blog” / sales pitch for Isagenix but it is obvious you are slanted. To a newbie searching for a real solution for them, keep searching and read from lots of sources.
FWIW: I don’t use either company’s products as I am not in the MLM business. I think both offer great opportunities and good products.

  • Joe Palmer May 25, 2013 at 1:07 am

All I got to say is biased.
