Does Mike Dillard REALLY Think Outside The Box?

A couple of months ago I took a trip out to Las Vegas for an amazing event, called the No Excuses Summit, and networked with some of the network marketing industry elite, including Mike Dillard. Drew has explained the incredible value in attending an MLM event. Not only do I agree, so does Mike Dillard. Anyway, Mike Dillard is the name, and face, behind Magnetic Sponsoring, one of the amazing training opportunities available for people who want to learn how to market on the internet.

Was Mike Dillard Unprepared?

Catchy title, but no. Unlike most of the speakers, Mike Dillard took the stage without a prepared presentation but he knew exactly what he was doing. He started by talking a bit about his down-to-earth, hold-nothing-back approach to writing copy for his ads and content. I have been on the receiving end of it and sometimes it can cause some raised eyebrows, but that is Mike’s point – to be real in this world. With that in mind, he proceeded to do something that I have never seen anyone in this industry do. He sat down on a stool with a microphone and invited the event participants to step up to mics and ask any question that they wanted answered.

Mike Dillard Totally Winging It?!

Again, following Mike Dillard‘s tutelage, this title engages YOU, the reader. Anyway, it is one thing to give a canned speech, with props or without, but to wing it in front of one thousand people, that was amazing. Yet, with his incredible way of thinking outside of normal boundaries, he came up with suggestions for people trying to build businesses that were extremely thought-provoking and could very well lead to new successes in fields that he, self-professed, knows nothing about. No wonder Mike Dillard is such a success in the Law of Attraction and bringing people to him for teaching, mentoring and learning life skills. So, when it comes to network marketing, or any marketing for that matter, the techniques that Mike Dillard teaches can help anyone who is open and ready.

I hope everyone that reads this Mike Dillard blog post understands what you’ve done with the post title and headlines “Mike Dillard Unprepared” and “Mike Dillard Winging It”. These follow some of what Mike would suggest and/or teach himself in enticing someone to read further. Ingenious strategy – worked for me! It got me to read this and even go so far as to comment. Thanks for this short but valuable lesson!

Mike Dillard is great mentor. It is great that he just wings it. I love Drew for bringing Mike Dillard and other gurus. Mike Dillard is really and you get his style. He is real

I can’t say I’m at all surprised Mike Dillard does things like this. He walks the walk of the Alpha marketer, just like he describes in Magnetic Sponsoring. In fact, I would be disappointed if he did things in a more conventional way. Way to go, Mike.

Does Mike Dillard really think outside the box? Looks like he does to me. I’m sure the event was just as beneficial for him as it was the audience. Great post.

    Hey Drew,
Love ya man, but I take some exception to much of this blog post.
First, while I am the first to admit that Mike Dillard is a brilliant entrepreneur (and marketer), he is not a network marketer and his material is not for network marketing.
“Network Marketing” in my definition, is sharing a product or a service you love with people in your network (ie. your friends, family, and associates). I could go on and on.
What it isn’t, is an online sales and recruiting fiasco where you need to entice people with ad words and slick marketing copy, recruit strangers with “proven” sales scripts, and bang your chest about your ABC (always be closing) success ratios.
Internet marketing and network marketing are (in my opinion) about as different as basketball and golf.
Again, nothing against Mike Dillard. He’s at the absolute top of his field and I have tremendous respect for him. But its not network marketing.
BTW- Great catching up last week.
