Team, I learned this a few years ago from a very successful young marketer. There are 3 levels of “selling” anything to anyone.
1) THE THING – You talk about the product or service in detail. This is the least effective approach even if what you’re selling is to die for. It’s all about YOU, rarely, if ever, about THEM, the people you are presenting to. People love to buy; they hate being sold to. This is one of my favorite MLM tips.
2) THE RESULT – You know that people want to lose weight, so you do a presentation that focuses on many of the benefits of weight loss. Not bad. Not great. It’s a shotgun approach that may arouse some feelings, but, ultimately, it’s generic and conceptual; hence, it has a head appeal.
3) THE RESULT OF THE RESULT – This goes deeper. If you follow these MLM tips, you will see growth in your team. It goes to the reasons WHY people may want to lose weight. Why people want to join your team. They are different depending on the person. For some, it’s about getting dates after feeling alone; for some, it’s about regaining the attraction of a loved one; for others, it’s about being able to take a walk without discomfort. Your job is to find out what your SPECIFIC prospect wants the most, and tell a story that paints an emotionally charged picture for the person. When you arouse their emotions, you give a direct clear call to action (Buy this NOW!). The graphic I made for you illustrates the 3 levels of selling. Each of you can write a story for the third image (the woman embracing the man). Assume that she is happy to have him back in her life. Fill in the details. OK. What happens when you are presenting to a group? You tell brief stories that cover the prominent reasons that people want to lose weight. Remember, you are leading people to TRANSFORMATION, to a promised land that they desire. You are not selling pills and potions, even if they have magical powers. You should always aim to present the RESULT OF THE RESULT. I would love your feedback.
