While researching success from home strategies recently, I found a statistic that states that 80% of people dislike their current job. That is an astounding statistic, but when I think back on the jobs that I have had, the drudgery of commuting, the endless hours for little thanks and very little rewards (most of the time), I can understand that it is probably true. I could always see it in the faces of those around me as well. With this in mind, I understand why more and more people are searching for financial freedom with a business to achieve success from home. For many, this is an ideal solution, but it is not for everyone.
Traits Needed to Achieve Success From Home
Success from home begins with an entrepreneurial spirit. It can be very challenging for someone used to an office environment – a cube farm – to suddenly find themselves alone on a daily basis sitting in their office-in-the-home; the same room that used to be the library or spare bedroom. It takes real discipline to be able to treat home as the Office. But success from home begins by setting aside a space and turning it into the Main Office of the business, not just the doubling up of the spare bedroom. Because, to be successful means to treat your home office as your BUSINESS, giving it all that you have got. It is not just spending a couple of hours a day at your desk; this is your future and your life, if you want to have success from home, you have to treat it that way.
Attitude! That is what I am talking about here. You must have the right attitude about your passionate reason why, your business, your plan and your workspace. Success from home is no different than success from “the office”, except that you are everyone in the company now. You are the sales person, you are the office manager, you are the advertising department, the fulfillment department, the customer service center, and you are the finance department. You are the CEO of your own company, and that is why you would choose to do this. You want to be your own boss.
Achieving Success From Home Is All In The Numbers
There are many ways to build a business from home to achieve financial freedom. Above all, you must believe in your company! It is going to take a minimum of five years to build a business. Malcolm Gladwell, author of some of the best business books of the last decade, including the bestsellers “The Tipping Point” and “Blink”, asserts that it takes 10,000 hours of concentration on a discipline to become successful. If you work a normal schedule for five years, calculated at 2,000 hours per year, you have it. Of course, it is possible to shorten that span by putting in more than the standard 40 hours for 50 weeks, which is probably what most people base their lives on, but the excess of hours are spent on YOUR business, not someone else’s. If you do this you will have success from home. It is inevitable. It boils down to the numbers. If you put in the time doing the steps that are known to generate the sales that become your cash flow, you will succeed. It is that simple.
So, financial freedom, through finding success at home, through your own business, is achievable through alignment with a great company in a field that excites you, allowing you to love what you do so that you can maintain a positive attitude for years to come, through lean times and wealth. Find a mentor and a guide. Read a lot of the stories of others who have done this. Find an accountability partner! It is doable if you are ready to take the time, take it on.
