Ahhhh. Life by the ocean. It’s remarkable. As a guy from New York City, living on the beach in Belfast, Maine is quite the paradigm shift. I have watched from my window a storm, a sunset, many sailboats, high tide and low tide, and my son walking the beach looking for beach glass. We have had lobster … twice. The ocean is a big life lesson for me. It goes from stormy and wavey to calm, like glass, overnight. It brings to shore a giant tree trunk and swallows it back up the next day. It has moods. Like people, it’s alive. And even if the ocean is angry and stormy or calm and peaceful, it doesn’t change my day or affect my mood. I just enjoy it … no matter what.
